The Road: The Book: The Movie of the Book: The Road
Just a quick thing for my fellow nerds - in some innocent interweb browsing I just discovered that Michael K. Williams from The Wire will be making an appearance in the upcoming Viggo Mortensen vehicle, The Road.
I know which character he is based on this picture.
I won’t spoil anything for you, but suffice to say, I’m excited/terrified for this film. I just finished the book an hour ago (hence my interwebular excursions, which also led me to a Cormac McCarthy interview with Oprah), and boy, are my tear ducts tired. Not that you can really cry on the subway. My eyes watered a bit but I steeled my resolve to not be a weepy baby on the 4 train and instead finished the final pages in the solace and isolation of my room.
It’s a good book, and looks like it’ll be a good (if harrowing, heartbreaking, disturbing) film.

nate bought “the road” this summer! or got it from the library or something.
i wish i read more for fun. i just…don’t.
blurgle.
we watched about 30 minutes of “Memento” today in my Media Aesthetics class, and it made me think of when i watched that AND american beauty at your apartment… in the same weekend. bad decision. i was disturbed and my heart was achey.
